Week 5: Persuasive Poster

Week 5: Image as Commentary
This week's pictures focuses on developing the poster from the week before. The same context applies to this week's pictures as well, which is Endangered Animals, but now in context of Hunting instead of Road Kills.
Poster Thumbnails:
These are ten poster idea thumbnails, each are different types of factors that affect and cause animals to become endangered.

Medium used: HB Pencil
Lino Design Sketch:
I took the concept of the bullet hole and blood and redesigned it slightly with a silhouette of a deer in the blood. It was determined that after I did the lino print that I would add a bullet and the wording digitally.

Medium used: HB Pencil
Digital Explorations:
I had a few ideas where I might put the text and if I should include or exclude the bullet. I tried with white text, but I felt like it didn't stand out as much as I wanted it to and it got lost with the small details of blood in the lino print. I found it difficult to decide where the text should be.

Medium/Application: Lino Printing, InDesign/MediBang
Final exploration of Lino Print:
My final representation had the black text at the bottom of the poster. I liked this as you could follow the dripping blood down to the bottom of the page to see the message and context behind the poster. If I was to do this again I would probably rethink how the deer and blood came together. I feel like the deer could have been represented better.

Medium/Application: Lino Printing, MediBang.
